Terms & Conditions
1. Legal notice
In compliance with Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI), the owner of the Little Big Name application and of the littlebigname.com website is:
- Owner: Felix Carmona
- Tax ID (NIF): 47789971L
- Address: Carretera de la Marina, 52, 08820 El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain
- Contact email: hello@littlebigname.com
2. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Little Big Name application. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
3. The service
Little Big Name helps you discover baby names and choose one as a couple: you explore name catalogs, mark the names you like, pair up with your partner, and the app shows you your matches. The catalogs, meanings and origins are provided for information and inspiration only: choosing the name — and any paperwork that follows — is entirely up to you.
The app is free to use, with limits: you can explore a limited number of catalogs — your own and a companion one, plus your partner's while you are paired — and you have a quota of swipes that refills on its own over time, or instantly if you watch a rewarded ad. The current limits are shown in the app itself, and we reserve the right to adjust them.
If you turn them on, the app can send you notifications when your partner matches with you on a name or accepts your pairing. You can turn them off at any time from the app's settings or your device's settings.
4. Your account
- To use Little Big Name you must be at least 14 years old. By creating an account you declare that you are. If we detect that an account belongs to someone under that age, we will delete it.
- You can use the app as a guest or sign in with Google or Apple. A guest account is not tied to any email address: the only key to it is held by your device. If you lose the device or its data — for example, when switching phones — without having linked the account to Google or Apple first, we will not be able to recover the account or anything you saved in it.
- Each verified email address corresponds to a single account: if you sign in with Google or with Apple and its verified email matches that of an existing account — for example, you sign in with Apple after having used Google with the same email — you will access that account instead of a new one being created.
- You are responsible for the use made of your account and for keeping control of your means of access.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible in the service; the timeframe within which it disappears from our backups, and what happens to the already anonymized analytics history, are detailed in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription: that is done from your store's settings.
5. Pairing
When you share your pairing code and link up with another person, that person will see your first name, your profile photo (if you have one), the names you mark as favorites and your matches, as described in the Privacy Policy. Share your code only with the person you want to pair with. You can undo the link at any time.
6. Little Big Name Premium
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional features, indicated in the app itself (for example, all twelve name catalogs, unlimited swipes with no ads, seeing your partner's favorites, undoing decisions, or resetting discarded names).
- To purchase Premium you need legal capacity to enter into a contract; if you are a minor, you need the authorization of your parents or guardians.
- The price and length of the period are always shown before you confirm the purchase. Payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play through your store account.
- If the plan includes a free trial, its length and the price charged when it ends are indicated before you sign up. Once the trial ends, the subscription automatically becomes a paid one unless you cancel before it finishes. The trial's conditions are set by the store, which normally allows it only once per account.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. It is managed and canceled from your store's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play); canceling stops the renewal, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Premium belongs to the couple: while you are paired, your subscription activates Premium for your partner too. When the link is undone, your partner stops getting it this way; your subscription remains yours, and only the person who purchased it can manage or cancel it from their store account.
- If you are on the weekly plan, you can switch to the annual one from the app. The switch is executed by your store under its own rules: depending on the store and the plan, it may apply immediately, crediting you the paid time you had left, or be deferred until the end of the current period. Your store shows you the conditions before you confirm the switch.
- If you reinstall the app or change devices, you can recover an active subscription with "Restore purchases", from the same store account you purchased it with.
- We reserve the right to change the price of future renewals. The store will notify you in advance and you will be able to cancel before the new price applies; where the store requires it, you will not be charged without your express consent.
- Refunds and the right of withdrawal are governed by the conditions of the store where you purchased, without prejudice to the rights the law grants you as a consumer.
7. Rewarded ads
The app may limit the number of swipes available per period. When offered, you can watch rewarded ads to refill your quota. The ads are served by a third party (Google AdMob) and their availability is not guaranteed at all times or in all regions.
Before showing you the first ad we will ask, where applicable, for your consent to personalized advertising, and on iOS the system will also ask for permission to track your activity. You can review or change those choices at any time from Settings → Ad privacy. Declining does not prevent you from using the app or watching rewarded ads: it only means the ads are not personalized. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use and your profile content
You agree not to:
- use the app for unlawful purposes or in a way that harms the service or other users;
- attempt to access other people's accounts or data, or circumvent the service's security measures or technical limits;
- extract the catalog or any other content of the app in bulk or by automated means, or resell the service.
The only content you can contribute that another person will see is your first name and your profile photo, visible only to the partner you pair with. They must not be unlawful, offensive or sexually explicit, must not impersonate another person, and must not include content you do not hold the rights to.
If your partner puts something in their profile that breaches the above, you can undo the link at any time from the app — that immediately cuts off what you see of each other — and report it to us at hello@littlebigname.com. We will review every report, and we reserve the right to remove the content or close the responsible account.
To protect the service we apply rate limits to some requests; if you exceed them, the app will ask you to retry after a few moments.
9. Intellectual property and your content
The app, its brand, its design and its contents (including the name catalogs, meanings and origins produced for the app) belong to the owner or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-commercial license to use the app.
You keep all your rights over the content you contribute (your name and your profile photo); you authorize us only to host it and display it within the app — to you and to your partner — so that the service works.
10. Availability and liability
- We provide the app "as is" and work to keep it running well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability, and we reserve the right to modify, suspend or withdraw features.
- To keep the service secure and compatible, we reserve the right to stop supporting old versions of the app. If your version falls below the minimum supported one, the app will stop working until you update it from your store, and will tell you so with a notice. The update is always free, and this does not affect your subscription or your data, which are still there after updating.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits the rights consumer law grants you or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Apple and Google
These terms are entered into between you and the owner, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or for its maintenance or support. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you; you also declare that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and that you are not on any U.S. list of restricted parties.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the app or delete your account whenever you want. We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, giving notice where reasonably possible.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a material way, we will tell you in the app before the change affects you and ask you to accept them to keep using it. Until you accept, the app will not be available; in that state you can always log out or delete your account. If you do not agree with the new terms, your alternative is to stop using the app and, if you wish, delete your account. The date of the current version appears at the top of this page.
14. Language
The app is available in several languages, but these terms and the Privacy Policy are published only in Spanish and English. In case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish version prevails.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be submitted to the Spanish courts, unless a mandatory consumer-protection rule entitles you to bring it before the courts of your own place of residence.
